Sardinia Wine Discovery Tour
Introduction
The cultivation of grapes and winemaking in Sardinia have an ancient history, which has its roots in the Bronze Age and has developed over the centuries thanks to the exceptional environmental and climatic characteristics of the island, but also through the meeting and mutual exchange with the numerous populations that, in the course of its history, have come into contact with Sardinia, its people and its culture. Discovery Sardinian terroir with this 8 days tour, visiting some of the most famous wineries of Sardinia such Argiolas, Santadi and Sella & Mosca.
Day 1
Program: Group Arrival, Contini Winery
Overnight: Abbasanta
Afternoon
Group Arrival in Cagliari Airport, meet the Tour Guide and depart on the main road of Sardinia. Arrival in Cabras and visit the Contini Winery, home to the Vernaccia wine. This wine is known from the Roman times and it has many specificities: it is dry and strong, and it ages for more then 40 years in barrels with air inside! And it also likes the thermical excursions!!! Wine Tasting on site.
Transfer to the village of Abbasanta, in the peaceful heart of Sardinia, check-in at the country hotel, welcome dinner and overnight.

Day 2
Program: Santu Lussurgiu Grappa, Bosa and the Malvasia, Alghero with Sella and Mosca
Overnight: Abbasanta
Morning
Depart for the village of Santulussurgiu, the Capital of Abbardente (local grappa!). Visit the Pische Family distillery and grappa tasting on site. Transfer to Bosa, on the west coast, and taste of local Malvasia, demi-sec dessert wine (BEST WINE OF ITALY 2010!!!!!)
Afternoon
After free time for lunch in Bosa drive on the coast road to Alghero, the Catalan town of Sardinia. Visit the Sella e Mosca winery, the most ancient on the island. Final drink after the visit.
Back to Abbasanta, dinner and overnight

Day 3
Program: Berchidda, Gallura the lad of Vermentino
Overnight: Tempio Pausania
Morning
Check-out from hotel and depart for the Gallura region, home of the white Vermentino wine. Visit the Regional winery of Sardinia in Berchidda. Wine tasting on site.
Afternoon
After Lunch visit the Vermentino winery in Monti, and wine tasting on site.
Reach Tempio Pausania, the capital of the Gallura region, located into beautiful forests.
Check-in at hotel and free time for dinner.

Day 4
Program: Arzachena and the luxury winery, The Emerald Coast, Aggius with the Valley of the moon
Overnight: Tempio Pausania
Morning
Depart for the Emerald coast, the Sardinian Capital of luxury! Visit the Surrau wineries in Arzachena, and
wine tasting on site. Follow on teh panoramic road on the sea to Baja Sardinia.
Afternoon
After free time for lunch in Baja Sardinia, drive on the panoramic coastal road to Palau and explore the Moon Valley in Aggius with its granite rocks. Return to Tempio Pausania and wine tasting at the Gallura winery.
Free time for dinner in Tempio Pausania and Overnight.

Day 5
Program: The Cannonau County
Overnight: Cagliari
Morning
Check-out from hotel and departure for the heart of Sardinia, the Gennargentu Mountains, home of the famous Cannonau red wine (Cannonau is a Sardinian word meaning ’hits you as a cannon’!). Reach Oliena
and taste the beautiful Nepente (special Cannonau).
Afternoon
Reach Orgosolo, proud village in the mountains, and lunch with shepherds including roasted suckling pig
and local cheese.
Reach Cagliari, the Capital of Sardinia, check-in at the accommodation, free time for dinner and overnight.

Day 6
Program: The Great wineries of Cagliari region
Overnight: Cagliari
Morning
Visit the Winery od Carlo Pili in Soleminis and the Argiolas Winery in Serdiana, the most famous winery of
Southern Sardinia, several times gold medal at Vinitaly!
Afternoon
After Lunch visit the Pala winery in Serdiana and drive back to Cagliari. Discover the castle of the ancient
Capital of the Kingdom of Sardinia!
Time at leisure for dinner in Cagliari and overnight at the accommodation.

Day 7
Program: The Carignano wine emotion.
Overnight: Cagliari
Morning
Depart for the Sulcis Mountains and discover the Santadi winery, home of the excellent Sardinian Carignano.
Afternoon
After lunch in local restaurant follow to Sant’Anna Arresi. Visit the Mesa Winery, incredibile mixture of
Pssion, Architecture and wine. Follow to the Coast road Chia with its beautiful beaches and admire the roman town of Nora.
Back to Cagliari, farewell dinner and overnight at accommodation.

Morning
Time at leisure in Cagliari.
Transfer to Cagliari airport and end of our services
