Sardinia and Corsica Tour
Introduction
Sardinia and Corsica, 2 islands in the Mediterranean Sea. 2 different Countries, Italy and France.
In this tour we will discover some of the best highlights of the islands. History, Nature, Food are the ingredients for this fantastic itinerary between Sardinia and Corsica.
Day 1 -Meals: D
Highlights: Cagliari Town, Capital of Sardinia
Overnight: Cagliari
Afternoon Clients arrival in cagliari airport, meet the local driver and the local guide. Transfer to cagliari centre.
Visit of the capital of Sardinia: after a panoramic tour of the highlights we reach the heart of the town including the Castle with its towers, ramparts, the cathedral and the National Archaeological Museum. Here we admire the best finds from Sardinian History, including most of all the Giants of Monti Prama, monumental statues reproducing ancient Sardinian heroes and considered among the most ancient statues of the Mediterranean region (as old as the Greek Kouroi!)
After the tour and after free time for relaxing and shopping we transfer to accommodation.

Day 2 – Meals: B, L, D
Highlights: Sant’Antioco, and Nora, Phoenician towns of Sardinia!
Overnight: Cagliari
Morning We drive south west and reach Sant’Antioco, the ancient Pohoenician town of Sulki. We visit the ancient borgo and most of all the Basilica of Sant’Antioco, built in byzantine style on top of the ancient Catacombs. Also we step in the fishermen village of Calasetta, where the local community speaks still a Genoan dialect. Free time for lunch en route. Afternoon we enjoy the panoramic road to Chia and finally reach the ancient town of Nora, with its roman mosaics, the theatre and the thermae straight by the sea, before returning to accommodation in cagliari region.

Day 3 – Meals: B, L, D
Highlights: Barumini Su Nuraxi, Oristano and Bosa
Overnight: Alghero
Morning After check-out we transfer to the Marmilla region and visit the site of Barumini, protected by Unesco.
We visit the site and after the visit drive west until we reach Oristano. En route we visit the Basilica of Santa Giusta, stunning medieval church.
Free time for lunch in Oristano region.Afternoon We keep driving in the western coast of Sardinia and reach Bosa, nice medieval town with its tiny town centre, dominated by the Malaspina castle. After the visit we take the panoramic road from bosa to alghero and finally reach accommodation in alghero region.
Overnight Check-in, Dinner and overnight at the accommodation in Alghero region.
Day 4 – Meals: B, L, D
Highlights: Alghero, Saccargia and Castelsardo, the best of north western sardinia
Overnight: Olbia
Morning After check-out we explore the centre of Alghero, famous sardinian town by the sea, with its strong Catalan Atmosphere.
Free time for lunch in Alghero
Afternoon Head to Codrongianos and stop to visit the Basilica of Saccargia. The most spectacular church in Sardinia, built by the pisans in the XII century A.C.
We drive north and reach Castelsardo, another historical town of Sardinia,
in nice panoramic location by the sea.
Finally we move and reach the region of Costa Smeralda.
Overnight Check-in, Dinner and overnight at the accommodation in Olbia.
Day 5 – Meals: B, L, D
Highlights: Wine Tasting in the winery, Porto Cervo, Prisgiona and Coddu Vecchiu.
Overnight: Olbia
In the morning we leave accommodation and depart to Arzachena in the heart of Gallura Region.
We discover the Gallura region, with its granite rocks and mediterranean Bush vegetation. It’s stunning to discover that, just a few km from the Luxury and the Movida of the Emerald Coast there is pure nature and relaxing quiet!
After a short trip by bus finally reach the winery. We discover the barrique hall and the vineyards and naturally we enjoy a tasting of the best local wines, mainly the famous Vermentino di Gallura.
Lunch in a restaurant nearby. In the afternoon walking tour in Porto Cervo, the town is famous for its billionaire hotels and villas.
Portocervo is an international jet-set destination.
We move then to visit some archaeologic site of the area, very impressive. This excursion leads us to the ancient heart of this region, where men have been living since more then 6.000 years!
Discovering the Archaeological site of Coddu Vecchiu, the biggest Giant’s Tomb of Sardinia.
This necropolis date back from the Neolithic age (IV-III Millennium bC), when men were still living in temporary houses and wooden huts.
After Coddu Vecchjiu we visit the Nuraghe Prisgiona. The nuraghe consisting of a main tower surrounded by a rampart trilobate.
Around the Nuraghe, the area bounded by the curtain walls, one can identify the remains of at least a dozen huts: it is circular constructions with input flagstone floor.
The nuraghe Sa Prisgiona was built between 3000 and 3500 years ago, when these territories where inhabited by the Shardana.
Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 – Meals: B, L, D
Highlights: Bonifacio, Sartene and Ajaccio, main towns of southern Corsica
Overnight: Ajaccio
Morning After early check-out we board on the ferry boat to Bonifacio in corsica and once there we have time to explore this tiny centre.
After a short tour of the city we drive to Ajaccio. Stop in Sartene, a tiny town in the mountains for Free time and lunch.
Afternoon With the help of a local guide we explore the centre of Ajaccio, the capital of Corsica and home to Napoleone Bonaparte.
Overnight Check-in, Dinner and overnight at the accommodation in Ajaccio region.
Day 7- Meals: B, L, D
Highlights: Cargese, the Greek village of Corsica, and Corte the Old Town.
Overnight: Calvi
Morning We drive north of Ajaccio and visit Cargese, the Greek village of Corsica. After this interesting visit we drive east in direction of Corte, Discover the ancient capital of the island, Corte, thanks to a local guide. Lunch in Corte.
After the guided walk you are driven to the Calvi region, in the northern side of the island, check-in, dinner and overnight in hotel in Calvi.
Day 8 – Meals: B, L, D
Highlights: Calvi, Sant’Antonino and Northern villages, Ile Rousse.Overnight: Calvi
In the afternoon enjoy a panoramic drive to the villages of Northern Corsica and the Ile Rousse Area. Return to your accommodations after your tour for an evening at leisure.
Day 9
Meals: B,
Highlights:
This morning after breakfast transfer to the Bastia airport. End of our services.
